JH AITC Core Leaders recently co-authored a paper that was published in the Journal of the American Geriatric Society. Authors included Drs. Nancy Schoenborn and Esther Oh and others. The paper is titled, “Knowledge and attitudes of Patient Safety Attendants (PSAs) in managing hospitalized older adults with delirium and dementia.” This study highlights the importance of PSA training in managing delirium and dementia-related behaviors issues in older inpatient adults and emphasizes the role of PSA engagement and recognition as a team member in the care of this vulnerable patient population.
